VOLTUCKY WINS AT DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Voltucky beat off some very
stiff opposition to win the Open Novice Championship at the
recently held National Championships at Stoneleigh. Ably ridden
by our resident rider Jai Bratton, Voltucky performed
a consistent polished test to win on 70.98%. He also came fourth
in the Open Elementary Championship having performed a good,
albeit slightly tense test.
He has already qualified for next
summers Regional Championships at Medium and Advanced Medium,
and also the Winter Semi Finals at Elementary and Medium. The
winter will be spent advancing his training with the plan that
he'll come out at Prix St George in the spring.
· VOLTUCKY YOUNGSTER SHINES AT HICKSTEAD
California Volcane by Maximillian Voltucky
was a close 3rd in the hotly contested 5 year old Rhinegold
Yound Dressage Horse Championships at the European Dressage
Championships at Hickstead. Bred by Nadia and the late
David Craton and ridden by Sorrel Warwick, this
young gelding has been quietly produced since being purchased
by American Stella Allen at the 2001 Equilibra Sale.
Nadia has Volcane's full brother for sale. He's just been backed
and looks every inch a dressage star in the making. Anyone interested
should contact Louise Woof in the first instant.
· SALUUT SON SOLD FOR 'AROUND £1 MILLION'

Mike Thompson's It's Magic Max has been bought
by Lord Harris for Irelands Peter Charles to ride.
On hearing It's Magic Max could be purchased, Peter
Charles acted swiftly to secure the ride on what he believes
is very much an Olympic prospect. The sale is a big blow to
British showjumping team prospects as he was one of the front
runners for the European Championships in Germany in August
and will now be jumping for Ireland.
Bred by Valerie Redbart and produced so
well by Keith Shore, this gelding is probably the most
exciting British bred prospect this country has seen for a very
long time. Betty Brandon who purchased the dam of It's
Magic Max when he was just a few weeks old, has a 4 year
old full sister Magic Maxine, who I'm reliably informed
is already showing exceptional talent over a fence. The dam
Magic Top is due to go back to Saluut again this
year, so I think it's very much a case of watch this space..
· NEW RIDER FOR VOLTUCKY

On the recommendation of Carl Hester, Jai Bratton
came to join us in the middle of May as resident rider and trainer.
Jai has spent the last 6 years training in Germany and Holland
with some of Europe's leading dressage trainers. He's largely
been involved in producing auction horses for the P.S.I.
Sales and Eurohorse Future Sales as well as training
horses and riders up to Grand Prix.
It will be a great asset for us to have an experienced
rider and trainer of Jai's calibre to produce our horses whilst
at the same time giving Jai the opportunity to compete, which
is something he's not had the chance to do.
· DRESSAGE TRAINING, SCHOOLING LIVERIES, SALE & GRADING
PREPARATION
With Jai Bratton now resident with us, we
will be offering dressage training, short and longer term schooling
liveries as well as sales and grading preparation. Jai works
the horses very correctly, and is an effective but sympathetic
rider. As a teacher he is enthusiastic, articulate, has a good
sense of humour which combined with his wealth of experience
makes him a popular and successful trainer. All ages and abilities
of horse and rider are welcome, so if you'd like more details
of what we can offer, or fancy booking a trial lesson please
contact Louise Woof on 01837 82070.
· MAXIMILLIAN RAMEXICO FROZEN SEMEN

It's always amazing what you find when you have
a clear out! Deep down in our liquid nitrogen container was
a quantity of Ramexico's semen that we'd had frozen by
Martin Boyle some years before selling the stallion.
His new owners chose not to purchase it, so we are offering
it at a straight stud fee of £195 for up to 3 doses for
the nominated mare during 2003, which with frozen semen insemination
packages starting from just £250, represents excellent
value for money. Resulting offspring are eligible to be registered
with SHB(GB).
Ramexico is bred from some of the most influential
jumping lines in Europe with such names as Le Mexico, Ramiro
and Alme appearing close up in his pedigree. An elegant
stallion standing 16.3hh, he throws very good looking children
who have fabulous temperaments and superb jumping ability. Please
contact us for a stud card or more information.
· VOLTUCKY AT BADMINTON HORSE TRIALS

Full
brothers Maximillian Voltucky and Vechta
We were delighted that Voltucky was one of
just 11 stallions to be invited to do a ridden display at Badminton
Horse Trials this year. Despite the weather doing it's best
to put a dampener on proceedings, the huge crowds remained glued
to their seats throughout the display. Although Voltucky
and his full brother Vechta have made a name for themselves
respectively in dressage and show jumping, an increasing number
of event horse breeders are using Voltucky. He is producing
exceptionally athletic youngsters with outstanding movement,
superb jumping technique, real class and obvious courage whilst
remaining easy to train. Just the type of horse that will excel
in modern eventing as well as dressage and show jumping.
· VOLTUCKY'S FIRST TWO CROPS ARE BIG WINNERS
Voltucky's first two crops of children are
now under saddle and really making their mark in competition
ridden by amateurs and professionals alike. With the demise
of The British Horse Database, it's not easy to keep track of
their competition successes, but a good number of the owners
of youngsters bred by us keep us updated which we really appreciate.
The Maximillian prefixed Myros and Maxwell
are having a field day at affiliated dressage competitions
in the Gloucester area with both being well qualified for the
regionals. We have a fair number of their siblings waiting in
the wings which bodes well for the future
Maximillian Mattique is doing very well with
ex young event rider Lorna Collins. Trained by Jane
Kidd, this combination are winning dressage points and last
winter won every time out in the indoor event horse dressage
and jumping classes.
Maximillian Mansell is yet another of Voltucky's
offspring to be winning in good company. Owned and ridden by
solicitor Joanne Grace, not only has Mansell just
won his first points in medium dressage, but with Keith Shore
on board is jumping impressive clears Newcomers. Mansell's
year younger full sister Maximillian Merrigo has recently
been acquired by dressage rider Jackie Stolper. Jackie
runs a training yard near Lymington, Hampshire and trains with
Emile Faurie, so we look forward to seeing them out competing
in due course.
· LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER

Maximillian
Masquerade - dam of Maximillian Mirage
Just to reinforce Voltucky's ability to produce
jumpers as well as dressage horses, Maximillian Mirage
has just started her jumping career with Robert Booth.
Robert runs a livery and training yard on the Ilse of Wight
and has been a regular customer of ours. We well remember jumping
Mirage when Robert came to see her. It was a case of nearly
scraping her off the indoor school roof, so airborne was her
technique.
· LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

Maximillian
Marakesh show jumping in 1996 with Mark McCourt and Giles Turner
Jackie Stolper has recently acquired the
Grade B jumping stallion Maximillian Marakesh. One of
the first offspring by Saluut bred in this country, Marakesh
has not been trained or competed in recent years, yet within
10 weeks of acquiring him, Marakesh was 10th in the South
West Regional Open Novice Dressage Championships. Jackie also
has a yearling filly who was the first of Saluut's offspring
conceived by frozen semen. The dam is back in foal to Saluut
again this year. Once again Saluut's ability to produce
outstanding show jumpers as well as dressage horses is very
much evident.
· SALUUT CHILDREN MULTI TALENTED
Having sired Olympic offspring in both show jumping
and dressage, we knew Saluut had exceptional stallion attributes,
but his ability to produce show horses has also risen to great
heights with the heavy weight winner Owen Glendower.
This young gelding is owned by John Dunlop and won the
heavyweight class at Windsor before going on to stand overall
reserve hunter champion. What a coincidence that It's Magic
Max, also by Saluut was jumping in the next door
ring at the same time that Owen Glendower went on his
lap of honour.
·
SALUUT DOES IT AGAIN

Yet another Saluut offspring
is making his mark. Bred by us, Maximillian Mohawk is
showing much talent for the future. Based in Scotland and being
brought on slowly by his owner/rider Martin Kilmurry, Mohawk
won the Rowallan Winter Foxhunter Final in some style.
He's also qualified for the 2003 Discovery, Newcomer and Foxhunter
2nd rounds and The Festival B & C final.
·
NEXT GENERATION

Valerie Redbart's homebred
mare by Hercorose
has produced another coloured foal by Voltucky. The
2 year old full sister
Red Volanta
has had many championship wins, so it's likely that the
new addition will follow in her footsteps prior to embarking
on a jumping career.
